FAQs
Is this therapy?
No. This is not therapy and it is not a clinical assessment. It is a focused parenting coaching session designed to help you look at one difficult situation more clearly and choose one small, realistic change to try.
What happens in the Deep Dive Session?
We look at one parenting difficulty in detail. We explore what is already working, where things get stuck, and what kind of response might help. By the end, you should have one practical next step to try at home.
Do I need ongoing coaching?
No. This is designed as focused support, not an open-ended programme. Many parents only need one structured session and a little follow-up to feel clearer about what to try next.
What kind of problems can I bring?
You can bring everyday parenting challenges such as arguments, routines, screen time, school mornings, bedtime, emotional outbursts, cooperation, confidence, boundaries, or repeated family tensions.
What ages is this suitable for?
It is suitable for parents of children and teenagers. The approach is adapted to the age and stage of your child, so the plan for a younger child will look different from the plan for a teenager.
What if my child may be neurodivergent?
That is absolutely fine. The approach is designed to be flexible and realistic. We can think carefully about what your child may be communicating through their behaviour, what demands may be too high, and what kind of structure or support may help.
Do both parents need to attend?
No. One parent can attend on their own. If two parents or carers want to attend together, that can also work well, especially when you want to agree a shared response.
Will you tell me what to do?
Not in a “one-size-fits-all” way. I will help you think clearly about the situation, notice patterns, and choose a small practical change that fits your family. The aim is not to overwhelm you with advice, but to help you find a next step you can actually use.
What if I’ve already tried everything?
That is often where this kind of session is most useful. Rather than simply adding more tips, we look at what has already been tried, why it may not have worked, and what might need to be adjusted.
What do I get after the session?
You will receive a short written summary with the main reflection points and the agreed next step, so you do not have to remember everything from the conversation.
What is included in the £180 package?
The package includes one 60-minute Deep Dive Session, two 20-minute follow-up sessions, one 20-minute reflection session, and a written action summary.
Can I book a free introduction first?
Yes. You can book a free 10-minute introduction to ask questions, get a feel for the approach, and decide whether the full session feels right for you.
What if the first session does not feel useful?
I offer a fit guarantee. After the first full session, you should leave with a clearer picture of what is happening and one small practical change to try. If the session has not helped you get that clarity, let me know within 24 hours and I will refund your payment.
Is this suitable for crisis situations?
No. This is not crisis support. If there is immediate risk of harm, danger, abuse, or a mental health emergency, you should contact emergency services, your GP, your child’s school safeguarding lead, social care, or another appropriate urgent support service.
Is everything confidential?
The conversation is private, but confidentiality has limits. If there is a concern that a child, young person, or adult may be at risk of serious harm, I may need to follow safeguarding procedures.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions take place online, usually by video call. This makes it easier to fit around family life.
Do I need to prepare anything?
You do not need to prepare much. It helps to think of one specific situation you would like to focus on, for example “bedtime arguments,” “getting ready for school,” or “screen time after dinner.”
Can you work with my child directly?
The main offer is for parents and carers, not direct work with children. The focus is on helping you respond with more clarity, confidence, and consistency.
Will this fix my child’s behaviour?
No one can honestly guarantee that. The aim is to help you understand the pattern better and choose one realistic change that may improve the situation over time. Small changes in the adult response can often make family life feel more manageable.
